Based on the prototype locks on the Rochdale Canal, but very similar to canal locks up and down the UK, this comprehensive kit allows the modeller to recreate one of these sizeable but not often modelled structures.
Measuring 284mm long by 88mm wide when completed, the lock has a rise of 10’ (20mm) and includes fully detailed gates, winding gear, access ladders, bridge, and steps. Designed to be filled with resin ‘water’ to a depth of 1.5mm to blend the lock in with the adjacent canal sections, this model will enhance any scenic layout, and will sit just as easily in urban areas as in the countryside.
